Dog Day Afternoon

Since we have been so busy and rarely home I thought it would be nice to take the dogs to the park this last weekend. Oh they were sooo excited.  Beyond excited to go in the car.

And even more so when we parked downtown and started to walk towards the park. Jordan wouldn’t even give a group of kids dying to pet her the time of day.

We took them to Curtis Hixon Park Downtown on the river front.

The last time we were there it was packed, but the park had just opened.  IMG_7596

This time is wasn’t near as busy and to our joy the dog park area…empty. So even bruiser got to go in.  And when another dog showed up he showed us that he didn’t need his leash and got along great with the new dog!

Adam and I worked with Jordan to go through the concrete tunnel structure.

We were so excited when she finally did!

Then she started going on her own…

…and not coming out.

She realized it was MUCH cooler in there…so there she stayed.

After Adam perched Bruiser in one I suggested he get in for a photo op.

He obliged and I turned down the nice lady who offered to get us all in. I was not climbing in that dirty dog thing.

We ended our time downtown at a pub across the street with some cold beer and good food.  The dogs even got a bowl of ice water. It was a great afternoon and the dogs really enjoyed getting out.  We decided we need to take them out more often.  The next step in their “coming out” is trying to get them to swim in Tara’s new pool…which we headed to after the park. We almost got Jordan in … but she’s still unsure. And bruiser had too much fun with his girlfriend Roxy. So much fun both of their feet were bloody and soar from running around.  Saturday night we had two very tired doggies. Mission Accomplished.
